Saturday
Arrive in Beaumaris ready to check in to your hotel from 15:00. Your long stay car parking permit will be shared with you upon check-in. If you require transfers from the airport, train station or ferry port, please do contact us to make arrangements prior to travelling.
At one time Wales had over 600 castles and today 100 of those still stand, either in ruins or restored. One of the most impressive is Beaumaris Castle with its ‘walls within walls’ design. Take the afternoon to explore this fascinating historic town and its magnificent castle at your own leisure. Check out the local bars and restaurants in the evening.
Sunday
Explore the island of Anglesey by sea and by land. In the morning you’ll head out on a RIB power boat to discover the hidden gems of this rugged coastline and the native wildlife that calls it home. Puffins, seals and dolphins are regularly spotted along these shores.
Back on dry land, in the afternoon you’ll take to the road and travel around the island’s small villages to explore the local culture. Visit some of its many lighthouses and soak up the views of countryside and seashore. You’ll see how this rural island is a coastal retreat for all sorts of native wildlife.
This evening we’ll host dinner for you and your group in a local restaurant. How better to get to know each other better than reflecting on today’s memories, while enjoying locally produced food and a few Welsh beers.
Monday
Snowdon mountain is the jewel in the crown of Snowdonia National Park. Standing at 1,085m it’s the highest mountain in England and Wales. The views from its summit are spectacular on a clear day. Today is a full day of hiking to reach the peak of this impressive, rocky landmark. Breathe the crisp mountain air and soak up the stunning panoramic views.
There is a cafe at the summit providing refreshments and light meals so you can replenish your energy before we embark on the descent back to base.
With several routes to the summit, your guide will choose the best circular option for your group and the weather on the day. With their local knowledge you’ll experience a spectacular mountain hike, reaching the second highest point in the whole of the UK.
Tuesday
Pack your bags, you’re heading inland today to begin your time in the hills and woodlands of North Wales. In the safe hands of our local expert, here you’ll learn foraging and bushcraft skills. Discover how to source delicious ingredients from the landscape around you and rediscover your inner self.
Your bushmaster guide will show you how to prepare and cook a delicious meal around an open campfire. Relax into the evening, toasting marshmallows and sharing stories with your travel-mates. Then retire to your bell tent for a cosy night of North Wales glamping under the stars.
Wednesday
Emerge from your cosy canvas canopy feeling truly rewilded. After a hearty campfire breakfast the group will have chance to try out some traditional outdoor games such as axe-throwing!
Our minibus will collect you from the glamping site late morning to take a short drive to the picturesque riverside town of Llangollen. Here we’ll have a short stop so you can explore the pretty streets of this historic North Wales town and enjoy lunch before heading back to the tour starting location in Beaumaris to reunite you with your vehicle. Expect to arrive back at your vehicle around 15:00.
