For adventurers who:

Are intermediate and experienced mountain bikers, looking for maximum fun on two wheels in minimum time.

Day 1

We’ll pick you up from Manchester airport at 11.30pm, or from Chester train station at 12.15am if you’re arriving by train, to take you to your accommodation in Capel Curig. They’re late pick-ups so you can catch your flight or train after work, saving you one day of precious annual leave.

Settle into your new home and get ready for your first day’s riding.

You’ll be staying in a high quality hostel with dormitory style bedrooms, each sleeping up to 6 guests. It’s a traditional Welsh stone building, featuring slate floors, log burners and comfy sofas – perfect for relaxing after a long day on the saddle. Plus there’s an outdoor decking area with firepit for beers al fresco. The hostel’s social areas are the perfect place to hang out with your new trail mates.

Within walking distance there are a couple of pubs serving homely food and an outdoor centre with a bar that serves food. Betws-Y-Coed is just 5 miles down the road, offering a number of bars, restaurants and cafes. Or if you fancy rustling up your own meal one night, the hostel has a large kitchen for guests to use.

Day 2

We’ll collect you from your hostel around 9am and head to Coed Llandegla Forest for your first day on two wheels. If you’ve brought your own bike, you’ll have access to bike tools here so you can get yourself set up and ready for adventure.

If you’ve chosen to hire a bike from us, the guys in the bike shop will get you fitted out with your new ride.

Once everyone’s set up and had their fill of breakfast in the forest cafe, you’ll head into the forest with your guide to run through your bike skills. They’ll share tips to help refine your riding style so you can get the most out of the Welsh trails for maximum fun and safety. This session includes a review of core skills before testing them out in the purpose-built skills area and pump track.

After a break for lunch back at the bike centre cafe, head out on the forest trails with your local guide. You’ll tackle red and black graded trails (plus a few secret trails no-one else knows).

It’ll be a full day of mtb action, with an emphasis on getting you set to enjoy the wilder riding that’s yet to come.

If you’ve brought your own bike but would like help getting it set up, simply book a set-up session. One of the experienced mechanics here will get your bike ready for the week ahead.
Cost: £20 per bike

Day 3

After a hearty breakfast at the little cafe next door, you’ll be hitting up the trails right from your hostel door. Today’s ride is a classic mountain route, taking you straight into big country. Stunning scenery, challenging trails, big mountain views and ancient trails. It’s a real taste of the wild.

You’ll be deep in the heart of epic Snowdonia for the whole day, pausing for a picnic lunch and a chance to catch your breath.

With challenging trails from the start, this is a Welsh classic and delivers a big day out!

Day 4

Indulge in your final breakfast at the cafe next door before hitting up more wild trails. We’ll be packing in the best trails from the hostel’s doorstep so you get maximum grin-factor from your morning!

After your ride, you’ll be able to get showered and changed back at the hostel. Once your wheels are packed away and you’re smelling fresh as a daisy, the bus will pick you up. Drop-offs at Chester train station will be at 3.30pm and at Manchester airport around 4.15pm.

After an epic few days together, it’ll be bear hugs all round and hasty plans to come back for more!
