Day 1

We’ll pick you up from Manchester airport at 1.00pm, or from Chester train station at 2.00pm if you’re arriving by train, to take you to your accommodation in Capel Curig.

Settle into your new home and get to know your riding buddies ahead of the first day’s riding together tomorrow.

You’ll be staying in a gorgeous 5* hostel with dormitory style bedrooms, each sleeping up to 6 guests. Voted one of the Top 100 Hostels in the World, it’s a traditional Welsh stone building, featuring slate floors, log burners and comfy sofas. It’s perfect for relaxing after a long day in the saddle. And for the summer months there’s an outdoor decking area with firepit. The hostel’s social areas are the perfect place to hang out with your new trail mates.

Within walking distance there are a couple of pubs serving homely food and an outdoor centre with a bar that serves food. Betws-Y-Coed is just 5 miles down the road, offering a number of bars, restaurants and cafes. Or if you fancy rustling up your own meal one night, the hostel has a large kitchen for guests to use.

The hostel and surrounding area is just perfect for a Welsh mountain bike holiday.

Day 2

We’ll collect you from your hostel around 8am and head to Coed Llandegla Forest for your first day on two wheels. If you’ve brought your own bike, you’ll have access to bike tools here so you can get yourself set up and ready for adventure.

If you’ve chosen to hire a bike from us, the guys in the bike shop will get you fitted out with your new ride.

Once everyone’s set up and had their fill of breakfast in the forest cafe, you’ll head into the forest with your guide to run through your bike skills. They’ll share tips to help refine your riding style so you can get the most out of the Welsh trails for maximum fun and safety. This session includes a review of core skills before testing them out in the purpose-built skills area and pump track.

After a break for lunch back at the bike centre cafe, head out on the forest trails with your local guide. You’ll tackle red and black graded trails (plus a few secret trails no-one else knows).

It’ll be a full day of mtb action, with an emphasis on getting you set to enjoy the wilder riding that’s yet to come.

If you’ve brought your own bike but would like help getting it set up, simply book a set-up session. One of the experienced mechanics here will get your bike ready for the week ahead.
Cost: £20 per bike

Day 3

After a hearty breakfast at the little cafe next door, you’ll be hitting up the trails right from your hostel door. Today’s ride is a classic mountain route, taking you straight into big country. Stunning scenery, challenging trails, big mountain views and ancient trails. It’s a real taste of the wild.

You’ll be deep in the heart of epic Snowdonia for the whole day, pausing for a picnic lunch and a chance to catch your breath.

With challenging trails from the start, this is a Welsh classic and delivers a big day out!

Day 4

Today we’re taking you to the spiritual home of mtb in the UK, Coed Y Brenin (Welsh for King’s Forest). Since 1990, mountain bikers have been been making the pilgrimage to Coed Y Brenin. No mountain biking experience in Wales would be complete without hitting up these famous rocky trails.

Your guide will lead you along the very best of the man-made trails, including the classic, flowing Pink Heifer and the notorious Beginning of the End. And with the benefit of their local knowledge, you’ll get to ride some of the wild trails that criss-cross this ancient forest. Few people get to ride these, so you’ll have bragging rights on a unique experience in this mountain bike mecca.

Take advantage of the visitor centre cafe and treat yourself to a hearty lunch in between rides today.

Day 5

Bring out the big guns, it’s Snowdon day! Standing at 1,085m, this is your chance to take on the highest mountain in England and Wales. Getting up there can be brutal – it’s a big ride / push to the top, but it’s worth every moment. Summiting its peak reveals the most magnificent 360 degree views (on a clear day). Soak them up, instagram the proof you were stood on top of the world, then pick up your bike and blast all the way back down that beast!

It’s a spectacular descent all the way back down to the mountain village of Llanberis and a refreshing dip in Llyn Padarn.

It’s another classic Welsh adventure. You’ll have a grin on your face all day long and memories that last a lifetime.

Subject to good weather, it is possible to do this as a sunrise ride if the group prefer. The push up will be in the dark but your reward is Snowdonia’s spectacular wild landscape, revealed as you hit the summit at sunrise.

Day 6

For your final day of riding you’ll hit up more wild trails straight from your hostel door. Big mountain views and technical descents, there’s a massive choice of trails around Betws-y-Coed. Your guide will pick the trails best suited for your group and the weather on the day.

It’s the perfect end to a spectacular week of riding.

Day 7

Enjoy the final breakfast in your mountain home before packing away your kit and wheels. The bus will pick you up from the hostel at 8.30am, dropping off at Chester train station at 10.00am and at Manchester airport around 11.00am.

After an epic week together, it’ll be bear hugs all round with your new biking mates.
