We’re Adventurers Like You
Next up: we love being outdoors. It’s what makes us feel alive. Whether it’s mountain biking, trail running or simply walking the dog, we get out into the hills every day to feel the sun on our skin and the wind in our hair. Okay sometimes it’s rain (or snow) on our skin, but either way we don’t care because we’re outside in this incredible playground we call home.
So we get it. We all have busy lives. Work demands too much from us all. So that time we do have to escape, whether for an hour, a weekend or a week, is precious.
And like you, we love to travel and explore new places. So we just love it when someone makes it simple to book an awe-inspiring adventure holiday. When we don’t have to spend hours, days even, searching the internet to piece together the accommodation, the best things to do, the top things to see, the travel in between each of them… not to mention the stress of how to get from the airport to where we’re going without spending a fortune on taxis!
Accessible, authentic adventure
We’re so passionate about the UK and its many incredible wild spaces but they’re not always the easiest places to get to, especially if you don’t have a car. That’s why we created Adventure Tours UK. We love to share our home country with people who want to get out and explore somewhere different, so our incredible adventure holidays give you the most authentic taste of the UK. And it’s all fully supported.
The UK is not the place so many people think it is. You think it’s about football? Or shopping? Well maybe in the cities, but it’s not for us thank you very much! When we talk about the UK, we’re talking about the rugged mountains of Snowdonia in North Wales. The rolling hills of the Peak District. The open wilds of the Scottish highlands. Places that set your heart racing with their raw beauty and promise of adventure. Places that make you feel alive.
Small group travel
These wild places are best enjoyed with a select few, so we only ever run small group tours. The best thing about travelling in a small group is that you get to share your experiences with a few like-minded adventurous souls. And memories are so much better when your experience is shared.
With an average of just 10 people per group on our multi activity holidays, you’ll never feel rushed or herded. Never just one of the crowd. You’ll travel like an individual, but with the joy of sharing with old friends and new friends alike.
Small group travel is perfect for solo travellers because you keep your travel independence while enjoying the reassurance of travelling with others. And with us, you have an adventure tour operator you can always trust to provide an authentic experience. We also welcome couples and like-minded friends looking to experience somewhere new together.
Local, professional guides
The best way to truly explore a new destination is with someone who lives there. Someone who knows it like the back of their hand and is excited to share it with you. All of our guides are local, so you’ll get to know all the local secrets: the best trails to ride, the stunning spots for a photo, the best beer in town… They’ll show you the things you would likely never find travelling on your own.
Every activity you do is led by a specialist in their field. Whether it’s coasteering, mountain biking, packrafting, walking, bushcraft, canyoning, river rafting, foraging, wild camping, canoeing or any of the other amazing activities we offer, you will always have an experienced professional to lead you. So you can rest assured you’re in safe hands at all times. You’ll also enjoy the company of your host guide, there to make sure you’re all set for a new adventure each day.
Responsible travel
Our world is precious and we have a duty to look after it. That’s why for us responsible travel isn’t an option or a ‘nice to have’. It’s an absolute must. And as a responsible travel provider it’s our job to make our adventures sustainable.
So we measure the carbon footprint of every single group adventure and we share that information with you. Look out for the carbon label on each adventure tour page and you’ll see just how low carbon a holiday with us can be. Not only that, but that number is our benchmark. So next year we can ensure it’s lower. And the year after it’s lower again. And… you get the picture! We’re not happy with just making a statement and leaving it at that, our aim is to reduce our carbon footprint year after year. Because we believe we can always do better.
Whilst we continue to work on reducing our carbon footprint, we offset the little carbon that is produced as a result of your journey. We do all of this because we care and we want to do right by our planet, while giving you an experience to remember.
As well as donating to create new native woodland in the UK to offset carbon, we also provide you with an aluminium water bottle. So there’s no need to buy any single-use plastic bottles when you travel with us.
It’s important we work with partners who share our passion for protecting our environment too. So you’ll find our ribride partner is a blue flag sustainable boat tour operator and we have hotel partners who source locally handmade, all-natural soaps and shampoos.
Financial assurance
As a responsible tour operator, we also have a duty of care to you. Both in the sense of providing professionally managed trips and through providing financial protection.
One of the many ways in which we ensure our full compliance with the Package Travel Regulations, is that we have financial failure protection in place through our membership of the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT).
